The Gulmarg igloo cafe was built by a local hotelier, Waseem Shah, who was inspired by similar cafes in Switzerland. He returned home with a vision, and within just 15 days, with the help of 22 workers, turned that dream into reality.

Everything inside the cafe is built from snow including the walls, tables, and chairs. To make it comfortable, warm fur-like covers are placed on the seats. The cafe can seat up to 16 people at a time, with four tables and four chairs per table.
